There are business trips.
And then there are journeys that strengthen friendships, deepen trust, and shape the future of an international organization.
When Narendra Gitay, Managing Partner and Head of Business Development APAC & Global Head of Commodities, BlackSwan Capital, together with his wife Nikita, travelled thousands of kilometres from Pune, India, to Vienna, Austria, the purpose extended far beyond meetings and presentations.

Their visit to the BlackSwan Capital headquarters represented an investment in something that cannot be measured on a balance sheet but is fundamental to every successful international company: human relationships.
For several days, Vienna became the setting for strategic discussions, cultural exchange, team building, and the strengthening of personal relationships that connect our global leadership team across continents.

Strategy Beyond the Boardroom
At our Vienna headquarters, the leadership team spent several intensive days discussing BlackSwan Capital’s strategic priorities for the years ahead.
Together, we reviewed our international project pipeline, challenged existing assumptions, refined execution strategies, and explored new opportunities across Europe, APAC, the Middle East, Africa, and the Americas.
Our discussions focused on the sectors that continue to shape global investment:
- Alternative Energy
- Data Centers
- Real Estate
- Raw Materials & Commodities
- Cross-border Corporate Finance
The conversations were open, constructive, and at times deliberately challenging.
Ideas were questioned.
Perspectives exchanged.
Strategies refined.
Our common objective was clear:
Delivering even greater value to our clients and partners through disciplined execution and global collaboration.
For an international advisory firm whose partners work across multiple continents and time zones, these face-to-face workshops remain irreplaceable.

Narendra Gitay
„My visit to Vienna reinforced what makes BlackSwan Capital unique. Of course, we spent many hours discussing strategy, execution, and international growth opportunities. But what impressed me most was the culture of the firm. At BlackSwan, relationships come before transactions. Trust, openness, and genuine friendship create an environment where people from different cultures can work together with one shared purpose. Together with my wife Nikita, I leave Vienna inspired, grateful, and even more committed to our shared vision of building a truly global BlackSwan Capital.“

Trust Cannot Be Built Digitally
Today’s business world is more connected than ever before.
Video conferences connect continents.
Messaging platforms enable instant communication.
Documents travel around the world within seconds.
Yet one essential ingredient of successful international business cannot be transmitted digitally.
Trust.
Trust develops through conversations that are not on the agenda.
It grows during breakfast discussions.
It deepens while walking through a city together.
It is reinforced through shared experiences that no virtual meeting can replace.
At BlackSwan Capital, we therefore see visits like Narendra’s not as ordinary business trips but as strategic investments in our corporate culture.
Because while technology enables collaboration, human connection enables extraordinary collaboration.

Sharing Vienna — Sharing Our Heritage
As passionate Austrians and proud Viennese, Martin Wolfram Steininger and Stefanie Laura Wurzer considered it a privilege to introduce Narendra and Nikita to their hometown.
The journey began at the historic Café Landtmann, one of Vienna’s legendary coffee houses, before continuing through many of the city’s most important landmarks.
Together they explored the history of Vienna—not simply as Austria’s capital, but as one of Europe’s historic centres of diplomacy, culture, finance, and international dialogue.
Vienna’s unique blend of imperial heritage and modern internationalism mirrors many of the values BlackSwan Capital embraces as a global advisory firm.
Sharing these stories was not merely sightseeing.
It was sharing part of who we are.

Music as a Universal Language
One of the most memorable moments of the visit came as a surprise.
Martin and Stefanie invited Narendra and Nikita to the world-famous Musikverein Vienna, universally recognised as one of the greatest concert halls in the world.

Inside the magnificent Brahms Hall, they experienced an unforgettable evening featuring masterpieces by Mozart, Haydn, and Vivaldi.
For visitors to Vienna, classical music represents centuries of cultural excellence.
For BlackSwan Capital, the evening represented something equally important.
Culture builds bridges.
Music transcends language.
Shared memories strengthen friendships.
And friendships strengthen teams.

Martin Wolfram Steininger
„International business is ultimately a people business. Financial models, investment memoranda, and transactions are important—but they are not what creates lasting partnerships. Trust is. For Stefanie and me, it was a great privilege to welcome Narendra and Nikita to Vienna, to share our hometown, our culture, and our values with them. The fact that they travelled such a long way from India makes this visit even more meaningful. These personal moments strengthen the relationships that enable us to execute successfully across continents. This visit was not simply about strategy; it was about reinforcing the human foundation on which BlackSwan Capital continues to grow.“

One Global BlackSwan Family
Reflecting on his stay in Vienna, Narendra quoted the ancient Indian philosophy:
„Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam“ — The World is One Family.
Few principles capture the spirit of BlackSwan Capital more accurately.
Our partners come from Europe, Asia, the Americas, Africa, and the Middle East.
They represent different cultures.
Different industries.
Different perspectives.
Yet they are united by one common vision.
One culture.
One commitment to excellence.
Across borders and time zones, our company is built on values that never change:
- Trust
- Integrity
- Respect
- Entrepreneurial thinking
- International collaboration
- Relentless execution
These values transform an international network into a genuine global team.

Stefanie Laura Wurzer
„As our international team continues to expand, creating opportunities for personal interaction becomes increasingly important. Digital communication allows us to work efficiently, but genuine trust is built when people spend time together, exchange ideas openly, and get to know one another beyond business. It was a pleasure to welcome Narendra and Nikita to Vienna and to experience these special days together. I am convinced that a strong corporate culture is one of BlackSwan Capital’s greatest competitive advantages—and visits like this help us strengthen that culture every single day.“

Investing in Relationships
Travelling from India to Austria is not a short journey.
It requires time, commitment, and the willingness to invest in something beyond immediate business objectives.
We deeply appreciate that Narendra and Nikita undertook this journey to spend several days with us in Vienna.
The ideas developed during our strategy workshops will undoubtedly contribute to BlackSwan Capital’s future growth across APAC and beyond.
But perhaps the most valuable outcome cannot be captured in meeting minutes or action plans.
The visit strengthened friendships.
Deepened trust.
Reinforced our shared vision.
And reminded us that while transactions may create opportunities, relationships create lasting success.
As BlackSwan Capital continues to expand across Europe, APAC, the Americas, Africa, and the Middle East, we remain convinced that our greatest competitive advantage is not simply our international network, sector expertise, or execution capabilities.
It is the people behind them.
Because in the end, the strongest global businesses are built by people who know each other, trust each other, and genuinely enjoy working together.
When capital is critical, execution matters.
